The final round of group matches commence today with the top spots in the table still to be settled for groups A and B. 

With five continents represented in these matches, it really is a global battle for qualification and Airton Risk, a division of Paddy Power PLC look at some of the numbers ahead of tonight’s games.

Cameroon may be out of the World Cup already, but they have the chance to prevent hosts Brazil from topping the group. With two defeats already they will be looking to salvage something from this year’s tournament, but with Brazil an 88.89% chance of finishing in the top spot, it will be a tough job.

In the other group A match Croatia need a victory against Mexico to secure qualification. They are one point behind and the Mexican’s have an excellent record of reaching the knockout stages; they have made it through in their last six World Cup’s.  Euro 2012 joint top scorer, Mario Mandzukic, will be hoping he can add to the two goals he scored in the game against Cameroon, Croatia’s form player is a 1.64% shot to win Golden Boot.

In group B Spain have followed France (2002) and Italy (2010) in being knocked out in the group stages as current World Cup holders. They are a 12.5% shot to finish off with a whitewash of losses in their match against Australia.

Netherlands v Chile battle it out for top spot in group B and Arjen Robben has the chance to get one up on his team mate in the scoring charts. Robin van Persie is suspended for the final group match, both have three goals apiece and are an 11% chance of winning the Golden Boot.
