England football heroes Vardy, Smalling and Fowler swapped their football boots for scorecards as they teamed up with Vauxhall Motors and TV presenter Reggie Yates to hunt for the ultimate #GetIN goal celebrations for England’s big summer of football in France.

The footballers kicked off the #GetIN campaign by becoming judges and auditioning the great English public in a football celebration version of Britain’s Got Talent. In true talent show fashion – the weird and wonderful acts ranged from the shocking, to the funny to the genuinely talented.

Man of the moment Jamie Vardy gave his highest score to breakdancer Philip Mark Prescott, acknowledging the performance was “a bit of him” and confessing he is partial to a breakdance move or two himself.

Whilst Chris Smalling gave martial arts contestant Mark Elliot more than he bargained for, demonstrating a floor-slamming Judo move on him at the end of his performance and revealing he was a former Judo champion himself.

Despite red cards from Vardy and Smalling, yodler Lynn Butler put a big smile on Robbie Fowler’s face with her bespoke song, written especially for the audition. Even admitting he would snap up her album if it were ever released.

Reggie and the boys did grimace when Bonetics A.K.A. Shakirudeen Alade Jr rom Romford showed off his contortionist moves. His attempt to ‘bend over backwards’ for the judges was met with shock but high scores.

Winning breakdancer Philip Mark Prescott won over all three judges with his head-spinning moves, scoring an impressive 26 out of 30. His unique celebration will now become the official #GetIN celebration for England this summer and will be performed at a live event by the talented winners.

Broadcaster, writer and director Reggie Yates said, “Vardy, Smalling and Fowler gave Simon Cowell and co a run for their money with their detailed critiques! All the contestants were brave to perform their #GetIN goal celebrations in front of a legendary line up. I’m a huge football fan and can’t wait to see England in action this summer – I love the idea of us all getting behind our team with a unified celebration. I for one will be practicing my signature celebration at home in front of the games!”

Jamie Vardy said, “I thought lots of the acts were really talented. I used to actually watch all the break dancing competitions and the battle offs so I had a lot of time for Philip’s breakdance routine. Definitely a bit of me that.”

As official sponsor of the England football team, Vauxhall Motors launched #GetIN to find a signature celebration that the public can collectively adopt to show their support for England.

”We wanted to do something that brought the public together to get behind the boys this summer” said Andrew Curley, Head of Sponsorship and Events at Vauxhall Motors. “The summer of football gives us lots of collective moments to celebrate from a winning goal on the pitch to a BBQ with friends with the game on – these are the #GetIN moments we want England to celebrate together.”

“To inspire the public to get involved, we’ll be hosting the audition content as well as other fun content on vauxhallfootball.co.uk and search #GetIN for more behind-the-scenes content, competitions and exclusive access to the teams.”
