Safeguarding Manager - Brighton & Hove Albion FC

Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club are currently recruiting for a safeguarding manager to join our high performing team.

This position will sit within our HR Team but will be fully integrated across the Club and Charity. This is a brand new and exciting role which will involve leading the Club and Charity’s safeguarding strategy, vision, values, priorities, policies and aim to promote and protect the welfare of vulnerable groups. We have a robust safeguarding structure in place and we are looking for a person who is passionate about driving our safeguarding commitment to the next level.

Applicants must have a relevant degree level qualification (or other extensive relevant safeguarding education) and a valid and accepted enhanced FA DBS CRC (Criminal Background Check) or be willing to undertake this check if successful. Successful applicants will also have a valid FA Safeguarding Children Workshop Certificate, a valid FA Welfare Officer Workshop Certificate and preferably, an FA Tutor Certificate in delivering the FA Safeguarding Workshop and/or Welfare Officer Workshop training. 

The successful candidate will have experience in offering safeguarding advice and support to colleagues, vulnerable groups and their parents/carers within a comparable organisation. Candidates must be able to demonstrate expert levels of knowledge and understanding of government strategy, legislation, guidance and plans for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups. Preferably, candidates will have experience of delivering training and experience of conducting enhanced, standard and basic DBS CRC’s (Criminal Background Checks) but this this is not essential.

This is a permanent role and will be required to start immediately. This role will be based equally across both of our sites, the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, in Lancing and the American Express Community Stadium, in Brighton. The successful candidate will also be required to travel throughout Sussex to observe and conduct risk assessments at other facilities in which the Club and Charity operate.
