What is the role?

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced football coach to join us in the brand new role of Head of Football Development. This exciting new position will lead the Football Development department through future innovative programmes on global technical development by working on major Club projects aligning them to the Clubs international football development initiatives. This role will be part of the Academy Management Team from a predominantly strategic viewpoint whilst also able to support operationally. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Director on all technical matters surrounding football development both internationally and within the Club. Flexiblitiy will be vital to be able to travel internationally as and when required. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for UEFA A licensed coaches with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within an elite coaching environment. Strong leadership and management skills are vital as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams.

Essential experience required:

Minimum 5 years’ experience within an Elite coaching environment in the United Kingdom or abroad. 

Budget Management experience.

Desired experience:
Experience of working with international development programmes.

Experience of working within the Elite Player Performance Plan.

Essential qualifications required:
UEFA ‘A’ Licence.

Desired qualifications:
UEFA Professional Licence.

Qualified Teacher Status.

Sports Related Degree.

FA Advanced Youth Award 

Essential skills required:
Strong leadership and management skills.

Good recording and reporting skills.

High level of communication and listening skills.

Ability to use own initiative.

Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.

To be innovative and not afraid to share ideas.

To always aim for the highest standards of delivery.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Good knowledge of technical and tactical trends in football.

Good knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan.

Excellent Presentation skills.

Excellent and up to date understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures and relevant clearances.

Good IT Skills.

Ability to coordinate and prioritise programmes of work.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

Professional attitude and understanding of the importance of detail. 

Proactive and uses inititiave.
