The thriving partnership between AFC Fylde Community Foundation and Cuadrilla has been extended for a further year.

The energy company has agreed to continue its investment in the Foundation enabling the launch of six new community initiatives, strengthening a programme of work that is already delivering life-changing opportunities to local residents.

The AFC Fylde Community Foundation operates a wide and diverse range of health, wellbeing and education improvement programmes which reach out to less fortunate people within the community.

As a result of the extended support from Cuadrilla throughout 2019, the Foundation will be creating a total of 14 additional weekly activity sessions covering the following areas of engagement: employability; enterprise; health and wellbeing; disability provision; social inclusion; and mentoring.

The ongoing financial support will also support the Foundation’s state-of-the-art Sports and Education Centre at Mill Farm, Kirkham, which is already recognised as a centre for excellence in terms of providing life-changing qualifications, mentoring opportunities and health improvement programmes across the region.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton said: “We are absolutely delighted that the far-reaching benefits of our working relationship with Cuadrilla will continue throughout 2019.

“Through this support, the Foundation’s delivery team will be able to work and engage with thousands more local residents, improving the quality of community life for all.

“As a charity, the Foundation is committed to being at the heart of our local community. Having a partner who shares the same ethos allows us to develop programmes which reach out to those who most require our support.

“We look forward to taking our partnership with Cuadrilla to another level during the coming year.”
