Jérôme Valcke confirms for Soccerex

Wed 13th Apr 2011 | Football Industry Events

FIFA's General Secretary, Jérôme Valcke, has confirmed his attendance at this year's Soccerex Global Convention, 26-30 November 2011, Rio de Janeiro.

Commenting on the event he said that "I have been to many Soccerex events, in several different countries; I have heard that the move to Rio was a great success and I look forward to meeting my friends and colleagues from across the industry at Soccerex in Brazil this year."

This year’s event, the second to be held in Rio de Janeiro, already has representatives from all 12 Brazilian 2014 FIFA World Cup host cities in attendance, as well as leading clubs and rights holders from across both North & South America and the world. Several FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games partners and sponsors will also be in attendance as well as many leading global suppliers from across the industry.

Last year's conference saw over 3,700 key decision makers from the football business industry attend and included a Football Festival on Copacabana beach itself featuring players and legendary ex-professionals such as Ruud Gullit, Denílson, Jorginho and Romario.

Conference delegates were treated to world-renowned speakers such as João Havelange, Danny Jordaan and David Dein speaking on the latest industry topics, as well as visits from the young Brazilian prodigy Neymar and the World Cup winning captain, Cafu.

The event also included many social and networking events culminating in an exclusive evening on Sugar Loaf Mountain which saw the Brazilian 1970 World Cup winning team honoured in the presence of the Jules Rimet trophy.
