Boro fans to join Juninho for team photo

Wed 27th Jul 2011 | Marketing & PR

Middlesbrough Football Club are taking fan involvement to new level by offering fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join Juninho in their biggest-ever team photo this weekend.

The club is inviting supporters who have bought the 2011-12 home shirt to get in the picture with Boro’s former Brazilian midfielder Juninho, manager Tony Mowbray and the current squad.

The special event takes place at the Riverside on Sunday July 31 to celebrate Juninho's return to Teesside and the official launch of Boro's new adidas home kit.

Juninho, who played for the Teesside club 3 times will return to the Riverside this Friday to play in Boro's final pre-season friendly against PSV Eindhoven, and is looking forward to one last chance to appear on an official Middlesbrough FC team photo!

Manager Tony Mowbray says: "This is a terrific idea that brings our fans close to the club again.

"It's great to see activity like this taking place. What adidas have come up with is a fantastic concept."

Boro are the latest in a long line of clubs to offer fans the opportunity to join in team photos. More than 500 fans took their place alongside the Bristol City team at the family event last Sunday, all donning the new 2011/12 away shirt - with the players in the home strip for the first time.
