Anfield Icon shares experiences at Leaders

Tue 9th Aug 2011 | Football Industry Events

Jamie Carragher, Liverpool FC vice-captain and former England international, will be addressing 1000 senior delegates attending the 4thLeaders in Football conference taking place at Chelsea FC, London on 5th and 6th October 2011.

With the modern day footballer working under intense pressure in an environment where player loyalty is seemingly decreasing, but wages are at an all-time high, clubs face a new challenge in holding on to their best assets.  From a game where on-field performances are assessed daily by managers, media, and the fans, whilst off-field activities also attract attention, Carragher will be discussing the lessons he has learned at the top of football.

Carragher has a host of footballing accolades to his name including the 1996 FA Youth Cup, two FA Cups, two League Cups, one UEFA Cup, and the pinnacle of his career, a UEFA Champions League medal.  He made his 666th appearance for Liverpool in all competitions on the 9th May 2011, making him the second longest-serving player in the club’s history.

Carragher will be joining a long list of other high profile speakers including Dr Michel D’Hooghe, Member, FIFA Executive Committee; Bruce Buck, Chairman, Chelsea FC; David Bernstein, Independent Chairman, The Football Association; Jean-Luc Dehaene, former Prime Minister of Belgium and now Chairman, UEFA Financial Fair Play Panel; Jim Boyce, Member, FIFA Executive Committee; Peter Coates Owner, Stoke City FC and Bet 365; Niall Quinn, Chairman, Sunderland AFC ; Pierluigi Collina, Former Referee, Serie A and FIFA; Greg Clarke, Chairman, The Football League.

Leaders in Football takes place within the Leaders Sports Summit, consisting of 5 leading conferences for Sponsorship, Digital Sport, Performance and the business of Horse Racing, over the 5th and 6th October at Chelsea FC.  For more information visit www.leadersinfootball.com, contact football@leadersinevents.com or call +44 (0) 207 042 8666.
