Chelsea and Compass Group UK renew matchday hospitality deal

The food service provider Compass Group UK & Ireland has secured a five-year deal with Chelsea FC said to be worth in the region of £12 million per year according to catering.co.uk.
Business relations between the two organisations began in 2005 and this new extension, worth roughly £12 million per year, will continue to see Compass providing matchday hospitality and retail as well as servicing conference and event operations at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, Compass will also provide catering for the players’ Surrey training grounds, the Chelsea Club and the Chelsea Tea Bar.
Chris Alexander, the operations and finance director at Chelsea FC said: “Compass has consistently proved its expertise in running our stadium and the team’s passion and commitment to deliver first-class hospitality and catering is always clear to see.”
Meanwhile Matthew Thompson, managing director of Compass Group UK and Ireland added: “It has been a great start to the New Year for Compass’s Sport, Leisure and Hospitality business with some significant contract extensions.”
