FA National Coach Paul Holder signs up to Northern Grassroots Football Exhibition

Mon 27th Feb 2012 | Football Industry Events

The Northern Grassroots Football Exhibition has announced that FA National Coach Paul Holder will be holding a coaching demonstration at the upcoming event at the Stadium of Light on 29th April.

Paul started coaching as a PE teacher and working in professional club community schemes and Grassroots football before moving on to professional football with Crystal Palace FC. At that time, players such as Ben Watson, Tom Soares, Wayne Routledge, Victor Moses and John Bostock were emerging through the Academy. He then moved on to help develop The David Beckham Academy in London and Los Angeles before moving again on to a Regional Post at the FA and subsequently on to his current National Post.

Paul has been a key figure in the development of the new FA Youth Awards writing and developing module two of this award and will also be working on the Advanced Level Youth Award.

Paul’s work at the moment is focussed on the professional game and involves helping develop coaches through professional development and coach education. He has previously presented at key conferences and seminars focusing on player development in a number of countries including Spain, USA, Mexico, Sweden, Norway, the Caribbean and with the Italian FA and UEFA.

Paul commented, “Events like the NGFE are a great opportunity for coaches and managers of Grassroots Football teams to continue their development, which can only benefit the youngsters playing the game. This is vital to the long term development of British football.

“My coaching session will aim to give coaches and managers effective ideas that they can apply to their own teams. It will also be great to share some ideas and hear the opinions of those attending.”

The NGFE will be a unique event for the North of England, bringing together top names from the world of football, leading voices in coaching and grassroots teams from across the North. There are also opportunities for organisations to exhibit their products or services in the exhibition hall which will be an integral part of the event. Tickets are available for attendees for only £5 each. For more information, to book an exhibition stand or to order tickets please call 0191 551 5164 or e-mail info@northerngrassrootsfootball.co.uk
