Absolute Radio Join Forces with Club Wembley to stage Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Show ‘Lads Night In’ in support of The Prince’s Trust
Absolute Radio have joined forces with Club Wembley to stage a Rock ‘N’ Roll Football ‘Lads’ Night In’ in support of The Prince’s Trust - an exclusive event at Wembley Stadium where football fans have the chance to talk tactics with a panel made up of the station’s lead football anchors Ian Wright, Russ Williams, Jim Proudfoot and friends followed by a Q&A and the ultimate viewing of Arsenal v Newcastle.
Staged against an iconic backdrop of Wembley Stadium, the station’s lead football anchors will act as an expert panel, bringing the Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Saturday show mechanic to a live audience made up of Absolute Radio competition winners and Club Wembley members.
Event goers will be treated to Arsenal legend Ian Wright leading a pre-match Q&A session and guests will be invited to take part in a silent auction of top prizes and memorabilia with all funds raised going to The Prince’s Trust. Money will go towards helping disadvantaged young people across the UK get the skills and confidence they need to get a job.
Through its partnership with the Premier League and Professional Footballers Association The Trust has helped over 17,000 young people through football since 1997, working with over 65 Premier League and Football League Clubs to deliver a range of programmes that have helped three in four young people in to work, training or education.
The night will also be filmed and recorded for www.absoluteradio.co.uk, and a special podcast will be made for listeners to enjoy after the event.
Cat Macdonald, Absolute Radio Communications Director commented on the partnership, “Club Wembley and Rock N Roll’s football values are well aligned - the opportunity for football fans to watch an Arsenal match with a legendary team player at one of the world’s most iconic football venues, whilst raising funds for the Prince’s Trust is a once in a life-time opportunity.”
Jane Baker, Head of Club Wembley Marketing said, “We are delighted to welcome Absolute Radio to Wembley Stadium for their ‘Lads’ Night In’ and with it, the opportunity for our members to enjoy what promises to be a fantastic night for all involved.”
The station signed a three year deal for Barclays Premier League Football commentary rights in 2010. Rock ‘N’ Roll Football with Ian Wright, Jim Proudfoot and Russ Williams is on Absolute Radio and Absolute Radio extra every Saturday from 1.30pm.
Lads Night in support of The Prince’s Trust with Club Wembley will take place on Monday 12th March.
