India to present Emerging Market Workshop at Soccerex

Soccerex are delighted to announce a presentation by leading figures in Indian football as part of the 'Emerging Markets' workshop at this year’s Soccerex European Forum, 28-29 March, Manchester.

The session will include addresses from stakeholders playing a key role in developing football in the region, including Kushal Das, General Secretary of the All India Football Federation; Desh Deepak Verma, Director General of the Sports Authority of India; Vishwajeet Kadam, Secretary of Bharati Vidyapeeth University (AKFDC) and Mario De Vivo, Chief Commercial Officer at Inter Milan, with more speakers to be confirmed.

The focus will be on India’s strategic vision for football, at both domestic and international level, and the work in development to optimise the country's bid to host the U-17 World Cup in 2017. It comes shortly after the visit of FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, to India on the 9th March to see the infrastructure progress in the country first hand. During the visit, Blatter is due to meet Executive Committee members of the AIFF who will update on the various developmental works in the country which also includes FIFA-sanctioned projects.

Ahead of the session, Kushal Das commented: “Soccerex is undoubtedly the world’s biggest football business event. The India Session at Soccerex would give us an opportunity to talk about the unique business opportunities in Indian football. With India bidding for 2017 U-17 World Cup, Soccerex would provide an excellent platform to showcase our potential to the world.”

This session is being hosted by Soccerex in conjunction with the Federation of Industrial Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and official Soccerex representatives, Libero Sports India, and forms part of a very special line up of key speakers at this year’s Soccerex European Forum.

These names include the likes of UEFA General Secretary, Gianni Infantino; FIFA Head of Security, Chris Eaton; Manchester United and England legend, Gary Neville; Queens Park Rangers CEO, Philip Beard; acclaimed European manager, Rafael Benitez; FIFPro Secretary General, Theo van Seggelen; DFB Marketing Director, Denni Strich; current England national team caretaker manager, Stuart Pearce and acclaimed QC, Andrew Trollope, to name just a few.  

Delegates attending this year’s European Forum will benefit from a packed exhibition showcasing the latest industry products and services. The event will comprise of a series of formal and informal networking opportunities for delegates to position themselves at the commercial heart of the European football industry.
