Sir Trevor Brooking Launches Grass Roots Football Show 2012

Fri 16th Mar 2012 | Football Industry Events

FA Director of Football Development, Sir Trevor Brooking, today officially launched the 2012 Grass Roots Football Show.

Europe’s biggest grass roots football show is back at the NEC in Birmingham from the 25th – 27th May and with a ground breaking partnership with The FA promises to be the biggest in the history of the event.

Sir Trevor Brooking was joined by Mike Evans, General Manager of the Football League Trust, and England Women’s Internationals Karen Carney and Casey Stoney at the launch event at FA Charter Standard club Lichfield City.

The former England international, Sir Trevor Brooking, commented; “I am delighted to launch the 2012 Grass Roots Football Show.

“It is an exciting year for grass roots football in this country and this is an ideal way to show everyone the many ways they can get involved in our national game.”

As well as the partnership with the FA all 72 Football League Trust Clubs will be in attendance throughout the 3 day football extravaganza.

Mike Evans, said; “We are very excited about the opportunity to host our annual conference at this year’s show; it is the perfect venue and location to host all of our 72 trusts from across the country.

“As well as the Football League arena, which last year hosted coaching sessions and disability football demonstrations with the likes of Iain Dowie and Chris Hughton, we will also be providing a dedicated Football League area for people to watch the League 1 and 2 play offs live.”

Joanna Burns, Director of The Grass Roots Football Show, said; “2012 promises to be the biggest and best Grass Roots Football Show ever.

“The support from the grass roots football family has been astounding and we can’t wait for it all to kick off on the 25th of May.”
