EVMI to hold annual meeting at Soccerex European Forum

The Events and Venue Management Institute (EVMI) will be hosting their annual meeting at this year’s Soccerex European Forum, 28-29 March, in Manchester.

As the leading educational and training programme providers for the event and venue management industry, the EVMI meeting will bring together tutors, partners, the Stadium Advisory Group, as well as their alumni — a network spanning the globe, with over 100 successful Stadium Management Summer School participants — to discuss the latest developments shaping the industry.

“A long time relationship turns into cooperation”, says Michael Siebold, founding director of EVMI.  “We are very happy to be holding our annual meeting alongside the Soccerex European Forum. This provides us with an excellent opportunity to gather our members from across the industry, at a time when the football world meets in Manchester anyway.  Together with the excellent forum programme, the EVMI meetings, hosted partly in cooperation with ESSMA, provide an ideal platform to prepare for the next 12 months, network and make new friends.”

EVMI was founded in response to the growing need for professional education and career development for individuals and venues. Today's multi-faceted venue management role requires professional training – preferably delivered by today's experts – for tomorrow's practitioners. Similar courses exist in North America and Australia but these are tailored specifically to their respective markets and, as such, have little practical application for venues in Europe. Uniquely, EVMI programmes take into account the diverse cultural, financial and organisational structure of the European and international markets - and so deliver practical, knowledge-based training.

EVMI’s presence adds to the strong stadia and infrastructure presence at this year’s Soccerex European Forum.  The European Stadium & Safety Management Association (ESSMA) will be hosting a special workshop on the stadium projects being undertaken in France ahead of the 2016 European Championships and there will be specialist presentations from Bosch and KSS on Stadium sound systems and training facility design respectively.

In addition to stadia issues, the European Forum conference agenda will feature sessions on UEFA’s move to centralise media rights, player and coach development, the art of management – a master-class with Rafael Benitez, betting, the tricky business of managing England with Terry Venables, financial management of clubs, the relationship between football and the media, and will finish with the Soccerex Supplement, a session with some of football’s biggest names.

Over 1600 delegates are expected to attend this year’s Soccerex European Forum where they will benefit from exclusive business opportunities via a packed exhibition and a number of formal and informal networking events.
