FIFA Vice President to discuss Asian Football at Leaders

Fri 8th Jun 2012 | Football Industry Events

Leaders in Football have announced that HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Vice President representing Asia on the FIFA Executive Committee, and the fourth son of the late King Hussein of Jordan, will be speaking at the 5th annual Leaders in Football conference on the 10th and 11th October 2012.

Following his election to FIFA Vice President for Asia in January 2011, Prince Ali has been a dynamic and active leader for football in the region, campaigning for issues such as the overhaul of the Hijab ban in women’s football.

As a guest speaker at Leaders in Football he will be leading a panel discussion on football in Asia, with a selection of the region’s leading figures who will examine the development and governance of the game, as well as major plans for the future. The event organisers also announced a number of new international sessions for 2012, including MLS owners and European Club Presidents panels, debate over financial fair play, and interviews with the owners and players of high profile clubs to discuss the challenges they face.

Leaders CEO, James Worrall, said “Prince Ali has been a key supporter of Leaders in Football and it’s fantastic to host him at the event for the second year running. With the World Cup returning in 2022 and the rapid development of competitions like the Chinese Super League and AFC Champions League, the timing has never been better to discuss the development of the game in Asia. We are already working with the Prince and his team to design a cutting-edge session highlighting major plans for the region.”

Other panels on the Leaders in Football agenda this year, based on 6 months of research, include a discussion of MLS Owners, a session involving 4 European Club Presidents, a panel on governance and financial fair play, and interviews with the owners and players of high profile clubs. Information about the agenda for Leaders in Football is continually made available through the Content Page of the event website (www.leadersinfootball.com/content).

Leaders in Football is recognised as the premium annual event in the international football business calendar with an invitation only audience of 1,000 senior level delegates linked to Clubs, Leagues, Associations, Federations and Brands.
