England Fans Show Their #Support

Mon 15th Oct 2012 | Marketing & PR

England fans showed their support during the 5-0 win against San Marino via Vauxhall's dedicated England football twitter account last week.

Vauxhall, the England team sponsor, encouraged fans to show their #support and get involved @VauxhallEngland.

Throughout the England Under 21 fixture against Serbia and England versus San Marino game at Wembley on Friday night England fans were encouraged to join in the debate and show their support for the national team by voicing their opinions on the game in real time on twitter.

From score predictions to thoughts on who had performed well during the game the fans were given the opportunity to have their opinion heard by using the hashtag #support and tweeting @VauxhallEngland.

Simon Culley, Home Nations Marketing Manager at Vauxhall, said; “Vauxhall’s social media strategy is focussed on engagement with the fans through our various platforms but this is the first time we have included some of our match day inventory to support the programme.

“For example we used the Vauxhall pitch side LED space to prompt the audience to get involved and show their support with various themes during the game.”

England face Poland in a World Cup qualifying match tomorrow night (Tuesday) which will give fans another opportunity to show their #support
