Burnley And Brentford Programmes Go Digital

Thu 25th Oct 2012 | IT & Technology

Burnley and Brentford have become the latest football clubs to offer fans the matchday programme on the iPad.

Using Matchday Digital’s iPad app, the clubs’ fans are able to download their programme prior to the game for a small fee giving them access to the matchday experience no matter where they are in the world.

“The barrier to many clubs producing their own ‘app’ for a matchday programme is the initial cost,” said Mark Catlin, former Director of Bury FC and now owner of the company in an interview with fcbusiness.

“We have successfully developed a product for individual clubs to sell their matchday programme digitally with an iPad app with no upfront costs.”

Like most clubs, there has been a steady decline in matchday programme sales over the last few years.

“Printing costs have continued to rise, but in today’s fast moving digital world, by the time the actual fixtures arrive much of the news has already been absorbed online by supporters, hence there is a steady decline in traditional print programmes,” Mark added.

The Matchday Digital iPad app is now used by many Football League clubs including; Bury FC, Crystal Palace, Colchester and Peterborough United.
