Stamford AFC Appoint Commercial Director

Fri 30th Nov 2012 | Football Club Management

Stamford AFC have appointed Peter Davis as a new director to the club's board.

Peter will strengthen the club's operation off the pitch with his considerable commercial and business experience.

A former commercial manager at Crystal Palace, Oxford United and Luton Town, Peter is the co-founder and director of Regal Sports Press, based in Milton Keynes, and his knowledge and contacts will be a big asset to the club going forwards.

Chairman Chris Rivett explained: “I am pleased Peter has accepted the board's invitation to join the team here and we all look forward to working with him.

“Peter will be a valuable addition in the boardroom in terms of his expertise commercially, having worked at a variety of levels in the game, but not just that, he has a broad knowledge of the requirements of running a business.

“He ran his own company before he was involved in football at a club level, organising hospitality at sporting events around the world and more recently has worked hard to establish Regal Sports Press as one of the leading suppliers of match programmes for clubs in this country.”

Peter added: “Having worked with the directors of the club since June I am delighted to have been offered this position and with it the trust and belief of the board that my experience can deliver additional initiatives and revenue.

"Under the watchful guidance and dedication of its backroom team, both past and present, Stamford is a club on the up and one that people in the game are taking notice of. It is a club that could have one of the best semi-professional football structures in the country if progress can continue to evolve.

“This current position, when coupled with the tremendous opportunity presented via the new stadium, states quite clearly the aspirations, commitment and ambitions the club has for the future.

"Therefore this opportunity to drive and deliver the dream for both club and community, I feel privileged to be part of."
