Forest Green Rovers have announced the appointment of Michelle McDonald as the new Club Secretary and Head of Matchday Operations.
After 14 years at Bristol City, Michelle arrives with vast experience in football administration at club secretary level. Prior to Bristol she spent 11 years at Swindon Town after starting at the club as a 16-year-old while David Hockaday was still a player at the County Ground and also had a stint at Wimbledon FC.
She takes over from interim Club Secretary Tom Cowling and will assume the matchday duties of General Manager Trevor Saunders who maintains his position on the Forest Green Board of Directors.
Chairman Dale Vince said: “On behalf of FGR I’m delighted to welcome Michelle to the club.
“Michelle’s vast experience and technical knowledge of football administration is a great asset to the club.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Tom for taking on the extra workload this season as he returns to his primary role as Head of Legal at Ecotricity Group.”
Ms McDonald said: “I am so excited about my new role at FGR and want to help the club achieve their ambitions including Football League status – which I know will not be long.
“Everyone has made me feel so welcome and I hope my many years of experience working in football will benefit the club. I have already made some minor changes which I hope will make a difference to the Manager and his staff.
“I am so grateful to the Chairman for giving me this opportunity and I am looking forward to a long and successful future with FGR.”
