Arsenal Football Club have agreed a partnership with Telkomsel, the leading operator of mobile phone services in Indonesia.
The deal means Telkomsel will become the Official Mobile Network of Arsenal in Indonesia. The partnership will see Telkomsel support the Club's visit to Jakarta in July. Telkomsel's 125 million customers will be given exclusive access to purchase tickets for the match during a month long advance sales period starting on April 7th.
Arsenal and Telkomsel will also be developing a number of co-marketing initiatives focusing predominantly on the simPATI brand in the build up to the match against the Indonesian national team on July 14 at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium.
The game will be the Gunners' first trip to Indonesia since 1983 and comes after two highly successful Asian tours in summer 2011 and 2012. This summer the team is also planning a game in Nagoya, Japan.
Arsenal's Head of Global Partnerships Vinai Venkatesham said: "We are delighted to have forged this partnership with Telkomsel and look forward to working with them moving forward. Asia continues to be a major focus for Arsenal, and Indonesia is a particularly important market for the Club with the huge following we have there.
“We have more Facebook fans in Indonesia than in any other country. By taking our first team to play a match in Indonesia, and working with one of the country’s biggest brands, we look forward to engaging with our passionate fans in the run up to, during and after this summer’s visit.”
Marcella Dewi, Head of Loyalty and Lifestyle Group Telkomsel, said: “Telkomsel have always been respecting and supporting sport, and through our brand simPATI that targets the youth market, we showcase our commitment in customer loyalty and innovation.
“We strongly believe this partnership allows us to provide unique football experiences for our football passionate customers across Indonesia. Telkomsel customers can enjoy exclusive offerings from this partnership, from exclusive access to purchase tickets for the match during a month long advance sales period, to the chance of winning tickets to Arsenal matches in the UK.”
