The MESSI brand launches the world’s first individual card collection

The world’s greatest player’s brand now has the world’s greatest card collection provided by Icons.com, called: ”Official Messi Card Collection”.
This is the world’s first official collection of cards devoted to an individual footballer, and is to be launched around the world in the week commencing April 12 by Icons.com, the most trusted supplier of football memorabilia in the game.
Each pack contains five glossy picture cards capturing the Barcelona star's finest moments both on and off the pitch, with 104 to collect in total - including four special gold cards.
The cards also give fans the chance to win exclusive shirts, photos and other products signed by Leo Messi.
Dan Jamieson, managing director of Icons.com, said: “We can all remember trading our prized cards with our friends in the playground looking for that much-coveted final card in the collection. But football card and sticker collections traditionally involve multiple clubs and multiple players.
“We’ve taken a different approach by focusing on one player and with Leo we’ve been able to create a collection that spans not just the football career of the world’s best footballer, but the man himself. This is the world’s best player and the perfect person to launch an individual card collection.”
Icons.com chairman Edward Freedman is the former managing director of Manchester United Merchandising and hailed by The Economist as “football’s merchandising guru”. Among Freedman’s many success stories are the Spice Girls, with whom he broke all sales records for pop band merchandise.
The cards will be available from kiosks, convenience stores, 7-11 outlets, mini-marts, tobacconists, independent supermarkets, shopping mall locations along with the Relay chain of outlets.
