Crystal Palace Nominated For Top Hospitality Award

Thu 25th Apr 2013 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Crystal Palace’s Speroni’s Restaurant has been nominated for a prestigious award.

The venue in the main stand at Selhurst Park has been recognised by leading football industry organisation Stadium Experience, in their Official Football Hospitality Awards of 2013.

The restaurant has been nominated in the ‘Matchday Hospitality of The Year’ category and will compete in both the divisional and overall sections.

A total of 16 clubs have been nominated across all four English football divisions, including Premier League giants Chelsea, Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Palace are also joined by fellow Championship sides Cardiff, Birmingham and Burnley.

Commercial Manager, Chris Powlson, said: The success of Speroni’s is due to a number of key factors.

“Since the restaurant was refurbished and rebranded as Speroni’s in 2011 there has been of a lot of work behind the scenes getting the matchday packages right, working closely with the catering department to select the menus for each match, better communication to the customer via regular website and direct e-mail stories both pre and post match, monitoring responses from customer feedback forms in order to constantly improve - all of which has created an experience that is now extremely popular.

“The delivery on the day is a combination of the commercial and catering departments. Nino Raisys and his team of chefs, maitre’d’s, waiting and bar staff have done a superb job matching and exceeding the expectations of our clients and guests, whilst the commercial team host the restaurant, meet and greet clients and guests, and help to create a superb atmosphere whatever the result.

“I believe that we now have a restaurant that is comparable with any matchday hospitlaity experience in the Championship, and judging from our customer feedback as well as receiving this industry recognition, others are now sharing our belief. This will give us a great platform from which we can continue to improve the product.”

Stadium Experience is a collection of some of the best football stadiums in the UK, working together to share best practice and to provide additional revenue for their members utilising the best of these unique sporting venues.

The Stadium Experience Football Hospitality Awards will be held at Reading’s Madjeski Stadium on Thursday 24th May.
