Lindley Venue Catering ‘s team at Notts County FC has scooped the best Matchday Hospitality Experience in League 1 Trophy at the prestigious 2013 Football Hospitality Awards organised by Stadium Experience.
The Lindley Venue Catering team was presented with the Matchday Hospitality Experience Award in recognition of the outstanding quality of the catering services provided on matchdays at Notts County FC’s Meadow Lane Stadium.
This is Lindley Venue Catering’s first season at the Notts County ground – the club had previously managed their own catering in-house and last summer awarded Lindley a five year catering contract to develop the food retail, bar and hospitality catering services following a refurbishment programme at the 20,000-seat capacity stadium.
Matthew Nicholson, Operations Director – Midlands & South at The Lindley Group, parent company of Lindley Venue Catering which is the group’s specialist sports stadia division, says: “We’re thrilled to bits that our team at Notts County has been so highly commended, and it is a perfect way to commemorate our first season working with the club.
"It really is a tribute to the Lindley team’s dedication to providing a truly memorable matchday experience, particularly as the recognition comes from professional chef judges who benchmark hospitality standards against strict criteria as they travel the country from club to club.”
The professionalism and high standards set by Lindley Venue Catering at Manchester City Football Club’s Ethiad Stadium were also recognised with the Lindley team being presented with the 2013 Directors Choice in the Premier League Award voted for by the board directors of football clubs when they visit an away match.
Now in their ninth year, the annual Football Hospitality Awards were established in 2005 to recognise and reward clubs delivering the best matchday experience based on a number of criteria including food quality, service efficiency venue standards through to presentation of matchday marketing sales literature.
This year’s glittering Awards event was held at Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium, and was attended by guests from all walks of the football hospitality business including chefs, waiting staff, kitchen porters, catering directors and catering teams from the Premiership to Coca-Cola Division 2.
