Brighton & Hove Albionís Pie Maker Scoops Gold Award

Fri 31st May 2013 | Football Industry Events

Piglet’s Pantry scooped yet another GOLD at the Football Hospitality Awards for Brighton & Hove Albion last week.

‘The Fans Choice Award’ is a hotly contested award for the best pie in football as voted for by the club’s fans. Brighton & Hove Albion won against Manchester, Aston Villa, Ipswich and some stiff competition from AFC Bournemouth and Morecombe FC to win.

The prestigious event, held at the Reading Madejski Stadium, saw Brighton & Hove Albion scoop further awards receiving Silver in the ‘Media Choice Category’ finishing behind Premier league side Aston Villa, and Silver in the ‘Green Hospitality Category’ finishing runner-up to Newcastle United.

Albion executive director Martin Perry was present on the night to collect the Gold award and he told seagulls.co.uk, “These awards recognise the hard work by staff working behind the scenes to make the Amex experience the very best that we can.

“It is great to see that we are continuing to be recognised for the very high standards that we have achieved and I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who has been involved.

“A special word though must go to Jo Philips and Piglet’s Pantry for the pies. What a brilliant achievement and what a story. From a small business sharing premises in Shoreham to the huge operation now supplying over 9,000 pies every game, and applauded by fans not just from Brighton but also all over the Premier League and Football League landscape.”

Jo paid tribute to the Brighton fans that have been supportive over the last season, “This award is a credit to the loyalty and support of the fans at Brighton & Hove Albion who love our pies; we have had a fantastic year and would like to thank the Club for the tremendous support they give us.

“This shows that you can have a good quality product and still produce 9,000 a game and is a great example of football food at its best’

The Award follows on from a successful year that saw Piglet’s picking up a hat-trick in the Football Category at The British Pie Awards in April; winning first, second and third with a clean sweep.
