David Dein to discuss all things Africa at Soccerex African Forum

Tue 10th Sep 2013 | Football Industry Events

David Dein, former Vice Chairman of Arsenal FC and the Football Association, has confirmed his participation alongside Lucas Radebe to speak at this year’s Soccerex African Forum 2013, 1-2 October, taking place at the stunning Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.

As one of the first football administrators, during his time at Arsenal, to recognise the wide array of talent being produced in Africa, as well as the huge commercial opportunities available, David is well versed in the two-way relationship the continent has with the beautiful game.

For many years David has been a regular visitor to countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon and South Africa and always attends the Cup of African Nations Tournament. He will be able to discuss the latest issues affecting the game whilst offering a neutral and experienced examination.

Commenting on his involvement at the Forum, David said, I've always maintained that Africa is one of the most fertile areas for football talent and has produced some of the world’s best players over the past few decades.

!I was lucky enough to work with many great African players from my time at Arsenal and the continent has always been an important football destination for me; I look forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences at the Soccerex African Forum and meeting up with many old friends as well”.

David’s involvement in the event is part of the Forum’s commitment towards the development of African football by bringing together the leading football figures involved in that process. This year’s Forum will feature no less than 8 national sports ministers, multiple FA presidents, senior club and league representatives and all supported by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
