Wycombe Wanderers appoint Football League's youngest director
Tue 1st Oct 2013 | Football Club Management
Wycombe Wanderers have announced two new appointments to the club’s board of directors.
Matt Cecil and David Cook have both accepted the responsibility and will begin their roles with immediate effect, joining chairman Don Woodward and fellow directors David Roberton and John Derben.
At 26 years of age, Matt is believed to be one of the youngest directors in the Football League, and has a background in marketing, PR and new media, as well as being a lifelong supporter and former employee of the club.
David has served on the board of Wycombe Wanderers Trust for nearly three years and has been actively involved in arranging the 125th Anniversary Exhibition at Wycombe Museum. In addition, David has been responsible for Trust communications and has chaired a number of working groups at Adams Park.
Don Woodward told wwfc.com: “The club has worked hard to achieve our current position of stability and now we want to move into a period of steady growth. Matt and David are two talented individuals who can make significant contributions by bringing fresh ideas and I’m delighted that they have agreed to join the board.
“Bringing somebody of Matt’s age into the club shows that we are forward-thinking and want to embrace new approaches when it comes to attracting new fans. Each director on the board has a particular set of skills and we’re in a good place to push forward on and off the pitch.”
