Sunderland Join The Corporate Council on Africa

Sunderland AFC has continued to grow business links overseas, becoming members of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA).
The CCA was established in America, allowing businesses to promote investment between the US and African nations. Made up from over 180 companies, the Corporate Council on Africa held a summit in Chicago last week and was attended by a club delegation.
The summit allowed the club to establish further links with businesses across the US which was also attended by club partners South African Airways and Caterpillar.
The CCA, chaired by Paul Hinks, CEO of Symbion Power, who the club are currently partnered with to build a sporting academy in Tanzania, something which was exhibited at the summit which seen government officials attend.
Sunderland AFC commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “The club’s work across Africa has been highlighted at the summit, further establishing the club’s links overseas.
“We have met with businesses from across America who know all about the football club so we are hoping to further strength relationships across the US too.”
Sunderland have steadily grown its international business connections over the last few seasons. Mainly focussed on the African continent, the club have in recent month’s announced partnerships with South African Airways, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Bivest.
