New Chairman For Goole AFC

Mon 14th Oct 2013 | Clubs Ownership

Goole AFC have announced the appointment of Baron Bloom as Chairman of the club.

Property Investor Bloom believes Goole AFC offers the best opportunity to fulfil his ambitions and has plans to move the club forward both on and off the pitch.

He told the club’s official website, "I am very excited at the possibilities that this creates and I look forward to success, both on and off the field.”

Goole AFC have simultaneously announced the appointment of David Holdsworth as manager with Curtis Woodhouse as assistant. Bloom added, “We are delighted to have appointed such a heavyweight team and feel this is a real coup for the club”.

Speaking of his appointment as manager, Holdsworth said, "I'm delighted to help Baron on his new project. After listening to his enthusiasm and desire, I hope together we can help lay some good foundations.

“This is a huge task and will take time, however we feel things can improve and start to change the fortunes of the club."

Bloom continued, “For some time I have wanted to become involved in a non-league club and see how far we can move it forward.

“My role, which will be completely unpaid, will be to assist in improving the club’s revenue. All of this revenue will be applied to improve the club infrastructure and facilities as well as the on-field success.

“I am delighted to be involved with such a wonderful club, and together with the new board, I know we will take the club into many new arenas. We will be looking to work with the staff, the players and the fans and together we can take Goole AFC to ambitious new horizons. This is a wonderful opportunity for us all".
