Advanced Ticketing Become UKTI North West Export Champion

Tue 19th Nov 2013 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Software provider, Advanced Ticketing (Advanced), based in Knutsford, Cheshire, has been chosen as a UK Trade and Industry (UKTI) North West Export Champion for 2014.

UKTI is a Government department working with businesses based in the United Kingdom to ensure their success in international markets.

The announcement follows Advanced’s international sales success with its TALENT ticketing commerce platform, in partnership with UKTI. TALENT ticketing enables sports clubs to manage customer databases directly, allowing them to understand exactly who their supporters are and identify their individual requirements. As a result, clubs can deliver a personalised customer journey to incentivise attendance and reward fan loyalty with tailored and targeted offers and loyalty points schemes for priority tickets.

Advanced’s ticketing software is already being used by a number of UK football clubs, including Everton FC, Liverpool FC and Advanced is on track to win 25% of new business globally this year.

At the beginning of the year, Advanced won a ticketing contract with Istanbul’s Galatasaray FC and through its partnership with UKTI, secured a contract with the new Zorlu Centre. Galatasaray enjoys the largest football fan base in Turkey and has a global following. The Zorlu Centre is a new arts and culture centre situated just outside Istanbul. Customers will be able to buy tickets online for a range of events, with all purchasing being managed by TALENT.

Clive Drinkwater, Regional Director of UKTI North West, says: “We are delighted to be working with Advanced Ticketing. The company has developed a strong international strategy based on collaboration with local partner resellers. Effective ticket sales are integral to the success of every sporting club or theatre. The flexibility of TALENT and Advanced’s ability to customise the system to a club or venue’s requirements makes it a product with worldwide appeal.

“The success of London 2012 means that UK companies are now enjoying a well-deserved reputation for delivering sporting events. I am delighted to see Advanced Ticketing using this as a springboard to global success. We look forward to working with them in the future to help maximise international commercial opportunities.”

Mark Dewell, Managing Director of Advanced Ticketing, says: “Advanced has achieved significant growth year-on-year through increased market share within the sports arena and diversification into the live music events and arts industries.  We currently derive 10% of our turnover from international sales and look forward to increasing this number by continuing to work with the UKTI in order to identify opportunities within new markets.”

Advanced Ticketing has expanded its international network through a partnership with Computicket in South Africa to assist in achieving its target of 25% of new business from global sales this year.

Dewell concluded: “As well as our contracts in Turkey, our South African partnership with Computicket has resulted in us selling tickets at the country’s major stadia. This includes the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban and the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth, both of which hosted the soccer World Cup in 2010 and the Africa Cup of Nations 2013.  TALENT is also used in Cape Town, at the Cool Runnings Toboggan Track which is the first downhill toboggan run in Africa.”

Advanced Ticketing is part of Advanced Computer Software Group.
