FIFA Heavily Represented At Soccerex Asian Forum

Wed 19th Mar 2014 | Football Industry Events

FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will both be heavily represented at the upcoming Soccerex Asian Forum, held in partnership with the Asian Football Development Project (AFDP), on 13th & 14th May at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, situated on the banks of The Dead Sea, Jordan.

Leading the FIFA delegation is Vice-President, HRH Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein who will be joined by Vice-President David Chung and Executive Committee members Sunil Gulati and Hany Abu Rida. The AFC delegation will be spearheaded by Vice-President Moya Dodd where she will be joined by Executive Committee Members Susan Shalabi, Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Khalid Hamed Al Busaidi and Winston Lee.

Members of the ExCo are responsible for some of the most important decisions in football including event host selection, law changes and continental berths for tournaments. With additional FIFA and AFC members to be confirmed in the coming weeks, the Asian Forum is set to be the most important football business event to ever take place on the continent and is an unmissable event for anyone involved in the Asian football industry.

HRH Prince Ali commented: “The Asian Forum will provide the perfect platform for all stakeholders and football leaders to come together and share their diverse experiences. We look forward to hosting our guests from Asia and across the globe to discuss the way forward to realise our full potential in Asia.”

Soccerex CEO Duncan Revie said: “To have the full support from FIFA and the AFC is an incredible achievement for the Asian Forum and confirms our rationale for bringing Soccerex to Jordan. Like our friends in Zurich, Kuala Lumpur and our host partners, the AFDP, we are extremely committed to the development of Asian football across the continent.”

The Forum, held in partnership with the Asian Football Development Project founded and chaired by HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, will bring together the leading figures from the world of Asian football as well as other international football experts to discuss the development of the game across Asia. The conference agenda will include a review of the opportunities for growth and the challenges facing Asian football.
