Bristol City have announced that John Pelling will become the club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
He will succeed current CEO, Doug Harman, who will remain as a director on the Board. John moved to Ashton Gate in October 2013 to head up the club’s Academy, which has recently secured Category Two status for three seasons.
John spent 14 years at Nottingham Forest as the club’s finance director, and briefly as head of finance at Sheffield Wednesday in 2013.
On announcing his appointment, Vice-chairman Jon Lansdown said: “John boasts more than 15 years of Board-level experience principally with Nottingham Forest.
“His time in charge of the Academy has been very successful and we’re delighted to welcome him on to the Board from June 1st.”
John Pelling commented: “I am delighted to be joining the board of Bristol City as chief executive. It is an exciting time with the stadium redevelopment project due to provide the club and its supporters with the facilities that they deserve.
"I look forward in particular to working again with Steve Cotterill. He has done a fantastic job with the players in securing our League One status for next season and I really hope that I can help him lay strong foundations for greater success to come.
"My seven months at the Academy have given me a great introduction to the club. I feel that the club provides a great opportunity to give promising players a platform to develop their talents.
"I now look forward to working with club staff as we move towards a bright future.”
