AFC Wimbledon Join Forces With Nerdfighters

AFC Wimbledon have announced John Green and the Nerdfighting community as their new back of shorts sponsor for the 2014-15 season.
The unique partnership was borne out of John Green’s admiration for what has been achieved at AFC Wimbledon and has agreed to further extend his sponsorship after first getting involved with the club in January.
“I am delighted to take the Nerdfighting Community’s sponsorship of AFC Wimbledon to the next level,” said John.
“I’m very grateful to AFC Wimbledon for giving us the opportunity to increase our support and I can’t wait to see the players kick-off the new season in the fantastic new kit.”
Ivor Heller, Commercial Director at AFC Wimbledon, praised John’s commitment to the club, stating, “I would like to thank John and all of the Nerdfighters for their continued support.
"We are extremely excited for the new season and we are looking to further develop the relationship between John, the Nerdfighting community and AFC Wimbledon.”
The logo on the kit features the popular Nerdfighter catchphrase DFTBA, meaning Don’t Forget to Be Awesome. Viewers of John’s YouTube videos with his brother have been using the phrase since John mentioned it in a video blog seven years ago.
Nerdfighters are one of the largest groups on the microfinance site kiva.org , and have now lent more than £2million to mostly female entrepreneurs in the developing world.
