Manchester City top the table for match day experience

Manchester City have come out on top in a survey by VisitFootball into fans’ match day experience.

Carried out by the Premier League in conjunction with VisitFootball, the annual audit looks at the experience and service levels for home and visiting supporters at each stadium.  It takes into account accessibility for disabled fans, the hospitality experience, pre-match entertainment, catering facilities, stewarding and the welcome received by fans. 

City scored the highest marks for home fans as well as for the hospitality experience, with the club coming in second for access for disabled fans and third for visiting supporters’ experience. 

The accolade comes on the back of more good results for the blues in the Premier League Match Attenders Survey.  Manchester City scored an impressive 4.47 out of 5 for its overall match day experience – the highest in the entire league. 

The Etihad Stadium’s facilities, sight lines, cleanliness and catering all received the highest average scores in the league in the Match Attenders Survey.   City fans were also very positive about the club’s communication and ticketing and supporter services. 

Danny Wilson, Director of Sales, Service and Operations for MCFC, said: “We are extremely proud to be recognised in this way.  It reflects the hard work that the staff off the pitch undertake and the part they play in ensuring that everyone who attends a match at the Etihad Stadium has a match day experience to remember. 

“Having been awarded the first position overall for the 2012-13 season by VisitFootball, we knew this would be no easy task to retain.  We must therefore acknowledge all of the other clubs, their staff and the great work that they do.  We thank them for looking after our supporters when they travel away.  We’re very much looking forward to the start of the 2014-15 season and delivering the City match day experience.”
