Thu 13th Nov 2014 | Marketing & PR

Bolton Wanderers Football Club have raised £10,000 for Blesma through the sale of their limited edition military green third shirts.

Blesma are the club’s national charity partner for the 2014/15 football season.

The shirts were limited to 1,000 with each shirt coming in a special presentation box. The shirts have the words ‘Lest We Forget’ embossed on the reverse with words from Laurence Binyon’s poem ‘For the Fallen’ featured inside the neck label.

The cheque was presented to Blesma Member Lance Corporal Stuart Robinson, a double amputee, and Blesma Support Officer Charley Streather by staff from the football club.

Bolton Wanderers fan LCpl Stuart Robinson said: “Thank you to all the staff, players and fans at Bolton Wanderers for all their efforts in supporting Blesma. Their support means that Blesma can continue supporting guys like me for life.”

Richard Gough, Head of Commercial at Bolton Wanderers, said: “I was absolutely delighted to be able to hand over a cheque for £10,000 to Stuart and to Blesma. The work that they do for our injured service personnel is vital and everyone here at Bolton Wanderers are proud to do what we can to support them.

“Our thanks must also to go our supporters who have supported this initiative by purchasing the limited edition Macron shirts to raise this money.”
