Swedbank Stadium Install Matchsaver Air Roller System

Tue 25th Nov 2014 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Swedbank Stadium in Malmo, Sweden, home of one of Sweden’s most successful club’s Malmo FF, have just taken delivery of their new 2014/15 Matchsaver Air Roller System.

This installation is the latest addition to the increasing number of Scandinavian stadiums and clubs that have chosen Matchsaver systems to keep their pitches open for business whatever the vagaries of the Scandinavian weather.

The five roller system was delivered and installed in just two days in October and included full hands-on training for all the Swedbank Stadium grounds staff.

The stadium management’s brief for the installation was threefold. Firstly to ensure that Malmo FF’s Champions League matches went ahead as scheduled in winter.  Second, is to help encourage as much grass growth (germination) as possible throughout the winter months.  And third, to help reduce the stadiums Under Soil Heating (USH) energy costs.

Markku Syvaniemi, Scandinavia Regional Director, commented, “Matchsaver systems have a great track record across Scandinavia in protecting pitches from the potentially harshest of conditions. We have tailored the covering system specifically for the stadium”
