Birmingham City Appoint New Head Of Media & Communications

Wed 26th Nov 2014 | Marketing & PR

Birmingham City have appointed Colin Tattum as the club’s new Head of Media & Communications.

Tattum, who will be well known amongst Blues supporters having spent almost 27 years reporting on the club as the Birmingham Mail’s Birmingham City correspondent and chief sports writer, will take up the post on 29 November 2014 for the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Nottingham Forest at St. Andrew's.

Speaking about his new role, Tattum said: "I was honoured and privileged to be fortunate enough to cover the club's fortunes for the Birmingham Mail for so long.

"And the kind messages I received on my departure were overwhelming and humbling.

"Now I am excited by this new challenge and I am looking forward to working with some very talented and committed people who have Birmingham City at heart.

“Its heartbeat are the supporters and one of my tasks will be to enhance our relationship and delivery of news, views and information to a local, national and international audience.

"I am absolutely delighted to be coming on board, especially in the wake of the more 'hands on' operational approach from St Andrew's and the appointment of a bright, young manager in Gary Rowett.

Birmingham City Director, Panos Pavlakis, added: “We are delighted to welcome somebody with Colin’s experience and knowledge to the club.

“As well as his extensive background within sports journalism, Colin understands the club and has a passion for it which will be pivotal in his role as Head of Media & Communications.

“We congratulate him on his appointment and look forward to working with him.”
