DAO – The Future Of Chinese Digital Marketing

China presents a hugely attractive and potentially lucrative marketplace for UK football clubs but many targeting fans in this country through dedicated social media channels may not be maximising its full value.
A complete understanding of consumer sentiment and digital behaviour relating to brands escapes nearly all marketers focused on China, despite the fact that social media and web searches play a more important role in buying decisions than anywhere else.
This is being directly addressed by the launch of Dao – in Mandarin meaning direction, path or all knowing. Dao is a not for profit community led by leading Chinese digital marketing authorities, that will enable learning through best practice, case studies, channel resources, research, white papers and collaborative problem solving that includes events, an online forum and a Q&A facility.
The inaugural meeting of Dao will take place in London on 3 December with an open invitation to any companies with an interest in Chinese markets.
As well as being the foundation upon which the community will be built, the event will focus on the benefits of Sina Weibo, with a case history presented by Aston Villa Football Club on how it was phenomenally successfully in transforming its brand awareness in China.
