Sports Analytics Innovation Summit: Pushing the Boundaries With Data

Thu 12th Feb 2015 | Football Industry Events

The Sports Analytics Innovation Summit returns to London on the 25th & 26th of March, driven by the industry’s finest data experts in sports and supported by 150 sports practitioners.

Hosted by Innovation Enterprise, this content led summit will feature inspirational keynotes, engaging panel sessions and unparalleled networking opportunities.

There’s no doubt that we have entered the next wave of sports analytics. Not only do sports teams have access to more data than ever before, they are also using this data to enhance their team’s success, from improving player performance and talent management, to competitive intelligence and preventing injury.

Whilst sports analytics has revolutionized the way that most teams operate day to day, challenges still remain for today’s leaders. Interpreting data and using it to make team decisions continues to unsettle the road to analytics driven sporting success.

The Sports Analytics Innovation Summit is taking place at the ExCel London. This event will be heavily content led, with a diverse line up of 25+ sports analytics leaders. We’ll be connecting 150+ elite minds in sports, with no discipline left uncovered.

“This year’s summit will focus on how sports teams can take control of both their on and off field analytics,” said Williams Tubbs, International Events Director at Innovation Enterprise. “Attendees can find out how other teams and even other sports are making use of all of the information available to them.”

Amongst the keynote speakers this year is the Head of Performance and Innovation at Team Sky. In his presentation, “Using Data Correctly”, Simon will discuss how sports analytics has changed in the last 5 years, from conversations around collecting data, to having a seamless process whereby it is extremely easy to get hold of vital physiological and activity data, both retrospective and real-time.

He’ll explain how Team Sky work through the new challenge of storing and representing that data to glean the best insight to drive their team forward.

Simon will be joined by the Head of Sport Science at the Premier League, Head of Programmes at Williams and the Head of Data at the Bundesliga to name a few.
