Tottenham complete first phase of stadium redevelopment

Tue 17th Feb 2015 | Football Stadiums & Facilities

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Lilywhite House, which represents Phase 1 of the Club's new stadium development, is now complete.

Lilywhite House includes the Sainsbury’s supermarket, which opened in November 2013, and the University Technical College of Tottenham, which opened in September 2014. It will now also be home to the Club’s new administration offices and the Stadium Project Office on the top floor.

Additionally, the Club confirmed that works to restore the iconic Tottenham Hotspur Cockerel and Clock have been completed.

The famous Clock, which has been a Spurs landmark for more than 70 years is now housed in the reception area of the new Club offices at Lilywhite House.

Prior to its removal in 2007 for restoration and to avoid further damage, the Clock had sat on the High Road since 1934 to assist people who were unfamiliar with the area in locating the Club offices and ground. A month after its original installation, the Clock was illuminated and adorned with the cockerel motif.

The painstaking work to restore the Clock was carried out by Gillett & Johnston Restoration and included the replacement of damaged parts, restoration of many of the original hands and dials and the fabrication of a new clock case and bracketry, as well as re-gilding the cockerel.
