Excitement Builds Ahead Of SMMEX

Thu 19th Feb 2015 | Football Industry Events

2015 is shaping up to be a unique year for the 17th Annual SMMEX Event with the introduction of a seminar programme, more exhibitors than before and for one year only, a 2015 Rugby Union World Cup Pavilion.

SMMEX - The Sports Merchandise & Marketing Exhibition will host over 120 manufacturers and marketing companies looking to work with the major clubs, brands and entertainment or character licensees.

Held in the Bobby Moore Room of the iconic Wembley Stadium, overlooking the famous pitch, SMMEX takes place exclusively once a year, for all of those involved in branding, marketing and commercial opportunities within the sports and related industries. From major sports clubs to licence holders, from corporate brands to retailers; there is something for everyone.

Seminar Programme

This year sees the launch of a “free to attend” seminar programme in conjunction with the Brand Licensing Europe trade show. Based on a range of topics to educate and enlighten a range of markets, the seminars will feature LIMA introducing “A Guide To Licensing”, Rovio (Creators of Angry Birds) “Build your brand through merchandise”, Sainsbury's “The importance of licensed products in the retail environment”, The Football Association “Souring New Merchandise”, Augmented Reality experts Blippar and social media gurus & website developers Tecmark talking about “Using Digital Technology to Engage with your audience”.

Rugby World Cup

With Wembley Stadium hosting two of the games next autumn and as the home of SMMEX - The Sports Merchandising & Marketing Exhibition, would not be living up to it’s name if it did not focus it’s attention on one of the biggest sporting events in the calendar for the upcoming year – the Rugby World Cup 2015!

SMMEX has joined forces with ESP to create a Rugby World Cup 2015 Pavilion focusing on the licensed merchandise available to retailers and fans. The pavilion will highlight a vast range of products from cufflinks to household items, from candy to phone covers, there is something for any retailer to be part of this huge opportunity.

If you are responsible for marketing, hospitality, corporate, fan engagement, retail or any aspect of commercial growth for a sports club make you are part of the largest multi-sport exhibition in the UK to help benefit your team.

Engage your senses and be inspired by products and services from companies reaching across 20 countries. Be a market leader and interact with some of the newest ideas on the market.

Entrance and parking is complimentary making it a cost effective way to find new products and ideas in a room full of potential licensors who are keen to make new contacts.

SMMEX continues to evolve to mirror the audience it serves and the changing needs of the industry. Make sure you visit on Monday the 9th of March 2015 to see for yourself.
