Stoke City ‘deliver’ significant sponsorship deal

Stoke City have announced that DPD has strengthened its ties with the Club with a two-year Official Logistics and Platinum Partnership.
DPD have been associated with the Club for a number of years but have doubled their annual investment to become sponsors of the DPD Stand for the next two seasons.
DPD are a nationwide company with more than 4,500 vehicles based at almost 60 depots, including a multi-million pound distribution centre in Stoke which was officially opened earlier this year by Potters’ striker Peter Odemwingie.
They also plan to open an additional £100m parcel sortation hub in the Midlands that will create up to 1,000 new, permanent full-time jobs in the area when fully operational later this year.
The new hub will be the largest of its kind in Europe, and will significantly increase DPD's overall parcel capacity. In total, the site will cover an area the size of 19 football pitches (33 acres) while the hub building itself will be around 470m long.
DPD Chief Executive Dwain McDonald said: “We’re very proud indeed to be Stoke City’s Official Logistics Partner and to extend our relationship with the Club.
“Stoke is an increasingly important location for DPD with the Head Office of our new parcel shop network, DPD Pickup, based there, and the new ‘Super Depot’ being built at Etruria, which will be one of the largest in our network.
“This new sponsorship deal symbolises our wider commitment to the city, and we’re very much looking forward to the new season together and supporting Stoke City in the Premier League.”
The new deal with City will give DPD an even larger match day presence at the Britannia Stadium, including exclusive branding of the DPD Stand.
City Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “We’re delighted that DPD have chosen to extend and significantly develop their association with the Club.
“We have worked closely with them over the last couple of years and I know from talking to Dwain he feels that our partnership and the exposure this gives them has enabled DPD to deliver their aims and objectives.
“DPD recognise that the Premier League is an open door to a global audience and we look forward to continuing to work with such a thriving business as one of our Platinum Partners.”
