Everton At Heart Of Performance Evolution

Wed 11th Nov 2015 | IT & Technology

Everton has announced an extended agreement with sports science software company Kitman Labs.

Silicon Valley’s leading Sports Science and Technology Company has installed the Kitman Labs system into Everton’s Finch Farm training base in a multi-year deal.

The Medical and Sports Science team at Everton will be utilising the world’s most advanced system, as used by the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and NBA’s Detroit Pistons.

Injuries to players in the Premier League cost on average £400,000 per player, totalling an estimated £190m in the 2014/15 season.

Stephen Smith, co-founder and CEO of Kitman Labs said: “The Barclays’ Premier League is one of the world’s ultra-elite sports organisations and Kitman Labs is honoured to be working alongside such a prestigious club in Everton.

"Everton’s continued use of the Kitman Labs system is a strong endorsement and we’re honored to be working with an organisation focused on the evolution of performance.”

He added: “Football is in the midst of a science and technology revolution, and Kitman Labs is at the heart of it.”

Matt Connery, Head of Medical Services at Everton, said: “We are delighted to extend our agreement with Kitman Labs. Utilising data and creating real time reports is vital for professional sports clubs and Kitman Labs has given us the power to achieve this.”

Founded in 2012 in Dublin by Stephen Smith, former Head of Athletic Training at Leinster Rugby, Kitman Labs has grown rapidly, opened US offices in 2014 and currently screens over 10,000 athletes across the world.

Built by practitioners for practitioners, Kitman Labs has partnership agreements across the globe with Irish Rugby Union, Bath Rugby, Miami Dolphins and Major League Baseball’s LA Dodgers.
