Hampshire FA Lands Southampton Airport Community Partnership

Wed 2nd Dec 2015 | Football Sponsorship

Hampshire FA have entered into a two year partnership with Southampton Airport as its new Community Partner.

The deal will see the two organisations work closely on community awareness and engagement activities which will help Hampshire FA engage with new audiences.

As part of Hampshire FA’s four year business plan, marketing and the exposure of the county FA at key events will become essential for the development, progression and sustainability of the grassroots game.

This year, Hampshire FA will look to pilot Community Fayres at key venues in the county promoting various volunteering, playing, coaching and refereeing opportunities to the public.

The first Community Fayre in Southampton will take place in the Airport commencing in the early part of 2016 with more events held at the Airport next year to further promote the partnership.

The support of the Airport as a Hampshire FA partner is expected to add significant value to the marketing of football opportunities in the county by targeting regular Airport users of which there are 1.2 million on average per year.

Furthermore, the Airport will support Hampshire FA with regular social media promotions, advertisements in their magazine and a website blog dedicated to promoting football opportunities in the county.

Hampshire FA Chief Executive, Neil Cassar discussing the partnership opportunity said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Southampton Airport to help us to work collaboratively within the community to promote mutual opportunities for existing and future participants.

“Southampton Airport enjoys a prominent and successful brand and profile in this region and there is no doubt that the partnership will support us in reaching new target audiences.

“We look forward to working with Southampton Airport over the next two years and hopefully beyond.”

Southampton Airport Managing Director, Dave Lees discussing the opportunity with Hampshire FA added: “Southampton Airport is delighted to become a partner with Hampshire FA.

“We very much look forward to working with this fantastic organisation on some really exciting projects in the local area over the next couple of years.”
