Bolton Wanderers Sell Training Ground To Wigan

Bolton Wanderers have today confirmed the sale of its Euxton training ground to ‘another North West football club’.
The Championship club have debts totalling £172.9m and are scheduled for a High Court appearance on Monday over a £3m unpaid tax bill.
Owner, Eddie Davies has been trying to sell the club after withdrawing his support late last year with former striker, Dean Holdsworth's Sports Shield consortium, reportedly given preferred bidder status.
But the club’s short term cash problems have forced the sale of its training base. A statement released by the club read: “Bolton Wanderers can announce that the club has concluded a deal to sell its Euxton training ground.
“The facility will now be solely owned by Huron Properties, with another North West football club set to be based at the Euxton site from this coming summer.”
The other club in question is Wigan Athletic who made the announcement via their official club website that the first team will train at a new Euxton facility from 2016/17 season.
“Wigan Athletic’s first team will train at a new facility in Euxton, near Chorley, after its purchase from Bolton Wanderers by the Whelan family,” read the statement.
Wigan Chairman, David Sharpe, said: "It's integral to our future success that we have a high quality first team training ground, and an Academy based in one location enabling it to grow and develop the players of the future."
Bolton Wanderers first team and backroom staff will now begin a process to relocate permanently to a combination of the club’s Lostock training ground and Macron Stadium in the run up to Easter.
