FC Barcelona and Facebook Collaborate On 360º Content

Barcelona fans were given the opportunity to experience the biggest game of the season in 360º virtual reality.
FC Barcelona and Facebook used the latest Clásico to offer fans the chance to put themselves in various corners of the Camp Nou using virtual reality technology.
During the game, various areas were equipped with Facebook’s Oculus technology, such as the tunnel before the players walk onto the field, allowing fans to enjoy a 360 degree experience.
The content will be published on the club’s official Facebook channel.
In recent times, FC Barcelona has been working on the production of various 360º content, and so the club took advantage of the league match against Real Madrid to publish the results on Facebook.
One of those was the players’ walking onto the field of play with the backdrop of the mosaic commemorating the late Johan Cruyff, which earned over a million views in just a day.
Speaking of the collaboration, FC Barcelona’s Commercial Director, Francesco Calvo, said: “We are focusing on virtual reality technology not only to allow our fans around the world to live the Barca experience wherever they may be, but also as it is a clear asset for digital sponsorship.
“This weekend’s experience is the start of a long path for FC Barcelona.”
