Wolves Backed By The Money Shop

Wed 13th Apr 2016 | Football Sponsorship

The Money Shop has today announced it is to become the new main club sponsor of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (Wolves) from the beginning of season 2016/17.‎

As part of this significant commercial agreement, The Money Shop’s brand will appear on Wolves’ first team and under-21s’ home and away shirts and all technical training kit for a minimum of three years.

The Money Shop / Wolves partnership began seven years ago when The Money Shop became sponsor of the Sir Jack Hayward Stand and this stand-branding will remain as part of the much larger sponsorship deal.

The Money Shop have also agreed that their branding will predominantly appear in black on Wolves’ first team home shirts – to best fit with the club’s iconic 'old gold and black' colours.

From June 2016 onwards, The Money Shop will replace Silverbug as the Club’s main sponsor, however, the global IT services provider will continue to support and work with Wolves.

Michael Edwards, Chairman of The Money Shop, said: “We at The Money Shop are so delighted to be the Wolverhampton Wanderers FC’s main club sponsor for the 2016/17 season.

"Given that The Money Shop has had a significant business presence in Wolverhampton for many years, as well as a a long-standing relationship with the Club, this opportunity to be their shirt sponsor is only fitting, and I know all of our colleagues are very excited about this.”

Stuart Howard, CEO of The Money Shop, said: “Since I joined the company, I have ensured that our corporate social responsibilities are at the heart of what decisions we make.

"The Club has one of the leading charitable Trusts in the country, and this is a very important partnership for us.

"We are very much looking forward to working with the Wolves team on a number of projects that will not only benefit the local community, but the charities that both organisations support.”

Jez Moxey, Chief Executive, Wolves, said: “We’re delighted to agree such a special main club sponsorship agreement with The Money Shop.

"We very much look forward to continuing our great working relationship, which will mean by 2019 The Money Shop / Wolves partnership will have flourished for over ten years, one of the longest commercial relationships in the Club’s history.
“The Money Shop have had a store in Wolverhampton City Centre for a number of years and employ and serve many people in the local community.

"Together, we have lots of exciting ideas about ways The Money Shop will be able to engage with Wolves fans and the wider community, starting with the launch of next season’s home and away kits.

“I’d like to thank Owen Daley and all at Silverbug for their fantastic support as main sponsor for the 2015/16 season and I’m delighted the longstanding Wolves / Silverbug relationship will be continuing.”
