Former Wolverhampton Wanderers Chief Executive Jez Moxey is set to become Norwich City’s new Chief Executive.
The club’s Board of Directors today confirmed Moxey, 53, will take up the role at Norwich after serving for 16 years as Chief Executive of Sky Bet Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Moxey will formally take up his new post at Carrow Road after helping to oversee the transition of Wolves new ownership by Chinese group Fosun International.
The news signals the successful conclusion of an extensive recruitment process by the Norwich Board for a new CEO, with the owners and Directors unanimous in their decision to choose Moxey from an intensely competitive field.
Chairman Ed Balls commented: "We're absolutely delighted to be welcoming Jez on board to lead this great football club into the next chapter of its 114-year history.
"We've conducted the very best and most thorough search for the right person to help us take the Club forward and Jez, with his wealth of football experience and business acumen, was the stand-out candidate from an extremely strong shortlist.
"He is a very astute and highly-regarded operator within the game and has all the attributes and skills needed to embrace the immediate challenge of helping us to get back to the Premier League as a successful and vibrant club, on and off the pitch.
"Meanwhile, until Jez formally takes up his duties with us, Steve Stone will continue as Interim Chief Executive.
“The Board would like to place on record our sincere gratitude for the excellent job Steve has done leading the Club through this period of transition."
