Thu 4th May 2017 | Clubs Ownership

Sam Rush, President and Chief Executive Officer of Derby County has been sacked by the club it was announced yesterday.

A brief statement released by the club read: “Derby County Football Club has today dismissed, with immediate effect, President and Chief Executive Officer Sam Rush on the grounds of gross misconduct and breach of fiduciary duty.

“The club will be making no further comment at this stage.”

Rush joined Derby County from Wassermann Media Group in 2012 but reports suggest club owner Mel Morris was unhappy with the club’s transfer dealings over the last two years.

Following his dismissal Rush said in a statement. “I am incredibly shocked and disappointed that my time at Derby County Football Club has come to an end in this premature way.”
