Rangers to Transform Ibrox with New Digital Technology Partnership

Tue 30th May 2017 | IT & Technology

Ibrox Stadium will undergo a digital transformation ahead of the 2017/18 season following a partnership between Rangers Football Club and Eleven Sports Media, the UK’s biggest digital sports network. The new stadium-wide platform, which is the first of its kind in Scottish football, will bring Eleven’s award winning technology to Ibrox, creating a new Partnership Programme that will enhance the matchday experience for fans and give businesses of all sizes the opportunity to reach supporters with incredible impact.

Digital Transformation

At the heart of the digital transformation, fans will see a new network of large format displays installed in concourse and hospitality areas throughout the stadium. The screens will form a new StadiumTV network, creating a social platform for fans to interact and keep up to date with matchday news. Eleven will also install a network of StatZone displays, which convert raw Opta data into dynamic live stats graphics, helping to engage and inform fans and drive the matchday conversation.

The launch of the platform at Ibrox follows the award winning success of Eleven’s Partnership Programme in the Premier League, working with clubs such as: Watford, Crystal Palace and Newcastle, where the technology has helped numerous clubs to develop an engaging digital platform that creates value for fans and businesses.

The new technology sits at the core of a new wider commercial platform to create an exciting new Rangers Partnership Programme that goes beyond the traditional relationship in which businesses simply purchase advertising space. Instead, the platform incorporates multiple digital and traditional channels to create a multi-tiered partner programme which offers greater value for a broader range of businesses.

Incredible Impact

A new five-tiered range of partnership packages are available, allowing businesses of different sizes to reach fans throughout every stage of the matchday. The new programme will allow businesses to become an official partner and create incredible impact by delivering their message across many different channels, both on matchday and beyond, including the new digital display network, match programme, website, stadium screen, and innovative new live social content.

Delivering Value Beyond the Stadium

Offering value for fans and businesses beyond the venue, Eleven will also launch StatTracker with Rangers this coming season, making the Ibrox club the first outside of the Premier League to utilise the solution.

Based on the same intelligent platform as StatZone, StatTracker will deliver branded visual StatCards to a social media audience to create immensely engaging content for Rangers national and international fan base. Reaching a potential audience of millions, StatTracker’s intelligent match analysis engine automatically creates Rangers graphics based on key match data such as passing stats, possession and goals, which are pushed out to Rangers social channels.

Partner Experiences

Whilst the platform aims to enhance the experience for fans and brands on matchday, the partner programme also offers significant ongoing value for businesses via regular partner events.

Rangers and Eleven will welcome partners of all sizes to a series of exclusive experiences and workshops designed to build links within the business community and allow organisations to interact and learn from each other as fellow club partners.

Scott Steedman, Head of Commercial at Rangers Football Club “Eleven’s digital stadium technology is incredibly exciting and we’re delighted to bring it to Ibrox.  We’ll be introducing the very latest in StadiumTV and StatZone entertainment, which will give fans an unprecedented opportunity to interact on a matchday. The aim of new partner programme is designed to help businesses of all sizes grow, giving them each a platform through which to engage with fans, and we can’t wait to showcase the range of partnership opportunities available.”

Eleven Sports Media’s Managing Director, Matt Cairns, added “We’re delighted to bring our award winning partner programme to Ibrox and we share Rangers vision to build a successful commercial and fan engagement platform that will both enhance the experience for fans and create value for businesses partnering with the club.”
