Key Government figures confirm for Soccerex

Soccerex’s first Global Convention to take place in Brazil, following a hugely successful 3 years in South Africa, has attracted key players in the Brazilian government as well as many of the industry leaders in Brazilian sport.

Sérgio Cabral, the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, will be joining both Orlando Silva, Ministry of Sport and Luiz Barretto, Minister of Tourism to open the event, taking place 20-24 November, Rio de Janeiro.

Márcia Lins, State Secretary, Sport & Tourism, Rio de Janeiro will be joining Agemar Santos, Institutional Director, Rio 2016 to discuss Rio’s focus in the sporting world whilst perhaps the most prominent Brazilian figure in sport, Dr João Havelange, the Honorary Life President of FIFA, has recently confirmed that he will address delegates on the opening day of the Convention.

Other key players in Brazil’s football business in attendance include J Hawilla, the long standing President of Traffic Sports Marketing. Traffic Sports Marketing have been a major player in sports marketing for 30 years and are extremely influential in Brazilian football, specialising in academies, player investment, talent representation and club management.

Marcelo Campos Pinto, Executive Director General, TV Globo will also be in attendance speaking on the future landscape of football broadcasting. TV Globo has also confirmed that they will be broadcasting live from the Football Festival and Conference through its specialist sports channel SporTV.

The Soccerex Global Convention (20-24 November 2010) will consist of an in-depth conference schedule, packed exhibition, a large range of networking and two-day Football Festival all taking place in the Forte de Copacabana, Copacabana beach and Sugar Loaf Mountain, Rio de Janeiro.
